NORTHEAST INDIANA (WFFT) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is bringing more rainbow trout to Fort Wayne and Huntington.
A total of 700 fish will be stocked on Friday and Saturday at two Fort Wayne locations and one pond in Huntington.
Shoaff Park and Spy Run Creek in Fort Wayne will each get 200 rainbow trout. An additional 300 fish will go to Memorial Park’s north pond in Huntington.
The DNR says the stocked fish will average 12 to 14 inches in length.
Fishing can begin after 3 p.m. on Friday in Fort Wayne at Shoaff Park and Spy Run Creek. In Huntington, fishing will be open after 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Huntington will host a family fishing event at Memorial Park’s north pond on Saturday at 7 a.m. Trout fishing is prohibited until the event begins.
Anglers at least 18 years old are required to have a valid Indiana fishing license and trout stamp in order to fish.
The DNR reminds anglers the catch limit per person is five trout.
